.Shivneri Get Together
 


The first get-together of Members of Mai Marathi was organised yesterday on 19th November, 2006 at Fort Shivneri. The basic aim of this get-together was to sensitize members about the aims and objectives of Mai Marathi and to motivate the members, especially newer ones to actively participate in the activities. In all 35 Members from Mumbai, 4 members from Pune and 01 member from Kolhapur attended this get-together.

The starting point of this trip was Dadar, unfortunately due to late arrivals of some members, the trip began about one and half hours behind schedule. The bus finally left for Lenyadri at 8.45 am. We reached lenyadri at about 2.30 pm. Members after visiting the temple and having lunch break went to Shivneri. We reached atop shivneri fort at about 5.15 pm. Members visited the relics and then assembled just beneath the birthplace of Shivaji Maharaj for discussions.

Shri Prasad Thakur, President welcomed all the members and in short elaborated the evolution and need of Mai Marathi. Later on the discussions took place as how to make Mai Marathi more effective, some strategies were talked about. Members like Shri Sachetan Gharat, Shri Arunesh Parab, Shri Vilas Jadhav, Shri Mandar Vaidya, Shri Suhas Vichare actively debated and disccused variety of issues. The discussions were really fruitful. Shri Bhushan Paithankar and Shri Vijay Joshi coordinated the debate and clarified many queries raised by members.


Shri Heramb Kalele, Founding President of Mandiyali Pratisthan, on the occasion presented a letter of appreciation to the President.

The meeting concluded at about 6.45 pm and the return journey to the base point of shivneri began. In this connection, we are very thankful to Shri Vilas Jadhav and his members from Pune who attended the get together. We also wish to thank Shri Mandar Vaidya, who joined this get-together all the way from Kolhapur.

Frankly, the way entire group gelled was quite amazing. The Antakshari, the poems of Shri Heramb Kalele, his one act show everything was splendid. It seemed as if we knew each others for years. This was the exact reason for which we had organized this get-together, as we firmly believed that until and unless we meet each other interact with each other, we will not be able to achieve what we have set for.

The get-together was a huge success on this count and we whole heartedly thank one and all for making this event such a memorable one.
