..Visit
to Girl's Orphanage Mukta at Titwala
“RUNANUBANDHA…..NATE MANACHE…!”
Mai Marathi Sanstha in joint collaboration with DyanPrabhat
Pratishthan's visit to Girl's Orphanage Mukta at Titwala was an
absolutely amazing and a wonderful experience. Vijay & Seema
came up with the name Runannubandha…Nate Manache..., for this
program & rightly so because as the name suggests we were
meeting people not just by any handshakes or just by any hi or
hello’s! We were bonding with the children who were struggling
to have a better future just like you & me. Only the world calls
them “ORPHANS”. Touched your heart didn’t it? So did ours! And
so did everyone’s who were with us.
We visited “MUKTA – Balika Ashram” an Orphanage meant only for
Girls located in Titwala, in the Central suburb, 2 – 3 kms away
from Railway Station is a building built on a 4000 sq. ft. area,
a stilt + three floors & well designed structure with
independent compound. The facilities are very good provided to
the girls & all the girls are provided with good education right
from the studies to proper home manners. There are 33 Girls
staying at the ashram.
To mention specifically is about 3 girls who are studying hard &
are trying to make a big impact. One a 12th Std Student at the
DNC college in Dombivli, 2nd A nurse, & 3rd pursuing MA in
Psychology.
Mrs. Maya Tambe one of the Directors of Mukta briefed us about
how Mukta came into existence. It was that 6 Women from Dombivli
who were working for distressed & troubled Women were looking
for a base where they could work for the betterment of the Women
in our Society. Their luck, as they got an opportunity soon as
this Orphanage needed someone who could look after them. The
team of 6 women leaded by Mrs. Jyoti Patkar, President, Mahila
Parivartan Sanstha have committed themselves to this project.
We had a planned a couple of games for the small girls. As soon
as we finished the introduction part, we & they were all set to
play the games. Chamcha goti, Musical Chair, Lightening of
Candles were the games that we played & we all enjoyed the most.
Antakshari was another part where all the girls were good at and
they beat the team of Mai Marathi & Dyan Prabhat easily. The
winners were given away prizes in form of Books, Pens, Pencils,
and Chocolates & etc. Later we celebrated Diwali as we all had
Diwali Faral, Chakalis, Chiwda, karanji, Ladoos & once we were
done with our tummy, we all lighted firecrackers. Anar, Zamin
Chakra etc.
It was such a wonderful sight. We all were playing, laughing
together a sight which only said we all having fun with our own
sisters.
Runanuband…..is a word u can only feel by an experience, there
are no words to express it…..Just feel it!
